OYS goes Green

Green MarineOcean Yacht Systems (OYS) are delighted to have signed their first contract with UK based carbon racing yachts and composite component company Green Marine.

The high performance, Nigel Irens designed, 78 foot fast catamaran is a new breed of design combining the technology and build methods of a stripped out racing multihull with the standard of full-fitout and amenity expected of a modern superyacht.

Due for launch in 2014, the carbon catamaran will be equipped with a custom lightweight vertical retracting bow thruster, model H-250-V.

OYS have worked closely with the Green Marine team to ensure the thruster design works seamlessly with the on board systems to produce maximum thrust yet wrapped up in a super lightweight package.

“This yacht is about having more power and less weight in a compact package.  Only OYS could give us the power to weight ratio that was wanted in a package that could fit the slim catamaran hullforms.  The ability to tweak motor and blade design will ensure the final unit is a perfect match to the hydraulic power available” – James Day, GM Project Manager.

Mark Barwell, Sales Director at Ocean Yacht Systems hopes that this will be the first of many projects with the Green Marine team.

New Thruster Design for OYS

April-Fool-websiteOcean Yacht Systems (OYS) are delighted to announce the launch of the AF Series thruster range.

The AF Series, has been designed as a no frills cost effective thruster to help OYS target new markets.

So what makes the AF Series so special? The areas where you find thrusters in the bilges can be very tight and compact. This new range of thrusters does not require the same space as what might be associated with traditional thrusters, saving valuable space on board. The very simplistic design requires little technical support and the future running costs remain at a record low.

“This new design really is genius,” comments Andy Fool the product manager for OYS. “Our technical team have been working hard over recent months and we are delighted with the outcome. A thruster which is quick and simple to install with low maintenance costs is a winner all round.”

The picture summarises the new design; however should you have any further questions or wish to place an order, please contact the team at OYS via the website here.
